Wednesday Oct 16, 2019
Hey there scary movie fans, it’s time for another installment of Cinemasters of the Universe and this one’s going to be spooktacular! Our hosts, Ron and Adam, are duking it out a second time in the Trivia Junket to see who’s the “Best Boy” when it comes to obscure movie knowledge. And since it’s October, this trivia is all about horror movies.
Then it’s on to the Feature Presentation. Our fellas are taking on the haunting task of strolling through the last 50 years of the macabre cinema to bring you some of their high points, and low ones too, of the creepiest offerings that Hollywood has brought us over the last half century. From the early days of Alfred Hitchcock to the recent resurgence in movies that go bump in the night from James Wan, our fearless fanatics will be taking on everything from Slasher flicks to found footage and all the zombies you can pack in the middle. It’s a topic that’s sure to make you scream…with delight.
Finally, we get this episode’s post credits scene. The guys are doing a “WHAAAT??? You haven’t seen ______???” again and this time it’s with a frightening twist. Somewhere in the catalog of horror flicks there has to be one or two that Ron and Adam haven’t seen and that’s the challenge this time around. To find out what they pick you’ll just have to tune in to this episode of CINEMASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE…if you dare…

Cinemasters: 10 Great Sports Movies, Rad Dads (Kazaam/Labyrinth)
Monday Oct 07, 2019
Monday Oct 07, 2019
Step up to the plate movie fans and welcome to the big show. This is where that fun little Sports Center jingle would go if I had it and copyright wasn’t a thing. But in this episode our Cinemasters are taking on the wide world of sports with reckless abandon.
Kicking off our Coming Attractions this time around we ask our fellas once again if they are Rad Dads or not. Ron decided it was time for the kids to see the immortal David Bowie/Jennifer Connelly classic “Labyrinth” while Adam took things in a completely unexpected direction and sat his boys down for the often overlooked cinematic gem featuring the second biggest genie, “Kazaam”. Did each of these timeless treasures make the play with the next generation or were the laces not out on this kick?
After that we move into the Feature Presentation, 10 of the best Sports movies of all time. It’s the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat as Ron and Adam run down their picks for the best play makers in athletic filmmaking. There might be some curveballs but with these two swinging for the fences I don’t think anyone will need a buzzer beater to win you over on their rankings. And don’t worry, we’re probably close to out of sports lingo at this point. One more, and we’d be in the penalty box for sure!
Finally, the post credits scene this week is a teaser for the next round of Trivia Junket! In the exciting next episode our fellas are gonna duke it out in the ring of movie knowledge. They’re each going in blind as to what 10 questions they will get this time around so if you want to see this prize fight you’ll have to make sure you tune in next time for the CINEMASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE!

Once we’ve got that out of the way though, its time for PENNYWISE THE DANCING CLOWN! For many adults this clown still haunts their nightmares from his first television appearance in 1990 on ABC to the recently released “It: Chapter 2” and our heroes will be delving into the book, the miniseries and both of the most recent iterations shared in theaters. There WILL be spoilers in this one so hold on to your bright orange wigs as we head deep into the sewers of Derry, ME to fight one of the most ancient evils known to man.
To wrap everything up our Cinemasters will line up their Rad Dad picks a little early in this episode before we get to all those juicy spoilers from the latest film which our Movie Masters couldn’t wait to see in its opening evenings and have already studied the film in great detail. Welcome back theater hoppers to another exciting feature of the Cinemasters of the Universe! The boys are all the way up to episode 14. Mitch is now completely installed as the Best Boy of this production and we kick this episode off with the Coming Attractions. Last we left our Cinemasters they were checking a couple titles off their missed inventory in another round of “WHAAAT??? You haven’t seen THAT???” Ron gives us his take on the precursor to Coach Bombay Emilio Estevez’s Repo Man and Adam takes us back to a black and white Western with George Bailey and Big Jake in “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”. Were these flick’s worth their time or did they get left on the theater floor like a half-eaten box of sour patch kids? Tune in and find out.
Moving on to the Feature Presentation we revisit a regular feature looking ahead at the next 3 months of what’s coming out soon. Our Leading Men pick their most anticipated releases coming out in September, October and December. Want to know what to look forward to as we head into the end of 2019? Well you’ll have to tear your ticket and grab a seat to find out what makes the projection booth and what’s left on the cutting room floor when it comes to big flicks coming soon.
Finally we’ll take a peek at the Post Credits sneak peek of what to look forward in our next episode. The guys are gonna pull out the casting couch once again and see if they can’t test their luck in revamping a couple of Hollywood classics with some fresh new faces. Ron challenges Adam to redo the Oscar Winning “My Cousin Vinny” with some very clear parameters of just who needs a casting update and Adam takes it a little easier on Ron with Back to the Future. To see who’s playing the new Vincent Gambini and Marty McFly you’ll simply have to swing by Blockbuster and rent the next new release of CINEMASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE!!!

"For Your Eyes Only"
Welcome back theater goers. In lucky number 13 of our Cinemasters episodes the boys introduce us to a brand-new segment in this week’s Coming Attractions. Trivia Junket gets its theatrical release and our Cinemasters challenge each other to a gauntlet of specialized Trivia. Adam tests Ron’s 1980s IQ and Ron looks to see just how big of a Ryan Reynolds fan Adam really is. If you want to know just how well they fared in this test of wits, you’ll have to tune in to see how things go down.
Next we’re on to the feature presentation and this time our heroes are running down the list of some of their top movie trailers of all time. It's too hard to fathom coming up with a legitimate top 10 so the Cinemasters will give us a look at 10 of the best trailers they’ve come across in their trailer tenure. Some selections will be sure to surprise you but once again, you’ll have to listen in to find out just which previews made their top 10 to see which ones you’re going to check out on youtube.
Finally, in the post credits scene of this episode, our pseudo-Siskel and erroneous Ebert line up what is on tap for the next installment’s coming attractions. This time around the fellas are going to be checking off 2 more of their missed adventures in another installment of “WHAAAAT??? You haven’t seen THAT???” Ron’s going to be checking out the 1984 Emilio Estevez punk rock classic “Repo Man” and Adam will be visiting the films of yesteryear once again with Jimmy Stewart and The Duke, himself, Mr. John Wayne in “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”. You’ll definitely want to tune in to find out how that goes in the next exciting episode of THE CINEMASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!

A Conversation with Dagan Moriarty
Monday Aug 19, 2019
Monday Aug 19, 2019
Whether he’s working long hours animating for the Emmy award winning children’s television show Sesame Street or flying across the country to record with his brother on the popular retro and nostalgia themed podcast CLS Knockback, the enormously talented Dagan Moriary never fails to be a pleasant and charming and full of warmth. So we were overjoyed when the Dagan accepted our invitation to join us and chat about his personal and professional life.
Avid listeners of CLS Knockback already know the eldest sibling of four is pretty tight with his family. So it’s no surprise to learn that before styling the iconic quaff of Miami Vice star Don Johnson in the early 1980’s, it was his grandfather who taught the budding artist how to draw Mickey Mouse and make a crayon do things that seemed like magic to a young impressionable Dagan.
Leading up to his success at Sesame, we learned about his work on the popular series of computer video games Leisure Suit Larry as well as his experience working on The Mr. Men Show over at Cartoon Network.
But there’s much, much more that I’m not going to spoil here. If you want to hear about the first ever arcade cabinets Dagan remembers seeing or which classic video game sprites he thinks are the coolest OR IF he knows everything a nerd ought to know about his hometown of Long Island, NY you’re just gonna have to tune in!

Ron has a hankering' for Cracker Barrel, Nick loves his video game and TV show-themed boards and Mark isn't giving up his game show inspired sets anytime soon. When it comes to the nostalgic feels there's nothing like some good old fashioned, sitting at the dining room table with family and friends, board game action. And for this week's episode we invited a family and a friend over, Mark Baker-Wright, to talk about 10 board games we love(d). Speaking of Mark and TV shows, we also get an inside glimpse of what it's like to try out to be a contestant on Press Your Luck in 2019.
